Takato Castle Ruins Cherry Blossom Festival 2025

Takato Castle Ruins Cherry Blossom Festival 2025

The best cherry blossom in the world

Takato Castle Ruins Park

Early Apr~Mid-Apr 08:00~17:00

In the 8th year of the Meiji era, former samurai tried to do something about the abandoned Takato Castle ruins and transplanted cherry trees from Baba to the ruins, marking the beginning of the park's cherry blossoms. The Takato cherry is the Takato Kohigan cherry, which blooms smaller and with a reddish hue compared to the Somei Yoshino. There are about 1500 cherry trees in the park, and it has long been referred to as "the best cherry blossom in the world," gaining national fame. It is one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan." Plans for night cherry blossom illuminations and projection displays are also scheduled.
