Karasuke Sakura Festival

Cherry blossoms associated with Minamoto no Yoritomo, reflecting on history
The "Idekan" in Karasuke is said to be the place where Minamoto no Yoritomo set up his headquarters during the Fuji hunt. The cherry tree known as "Komadome no Sakura" (Horse Tethering Cherry Tree), where Lord Yoritomo tied his horse, is one of Japan's five great cherry trees. On the 5th (Saturday), the opening ceremony, tea ceremony, Karasuke Kyogen, and stage performance are scheduled, and on the 6th (Sunday), a stage performance and free mochi distribution are planned.
