80 years after the war, the problems seen in the recent major road collapse accident in Saitama are emerging in various fields across Japan. Aging infrastructure, food issues, education, drastic population changes, the influx of foreigners, global warming, stagnation in the political economy, and declining diplomatic power—what are the causes of these many deterioration issues facing the Japanese archipelago? We will discuss Japan's challenges at this turning point and provide guidance for the future.
