Welcome to the home of weeping cherry blossoms, Hida Asahi
The weeping cherry blossoms reflected in the rice fields of Takayama, and the spring cherry blossom illuminations at Aoya Shinmei Shrine's weeping cherry tree. Asahi Town is also known as the 'Home of Weeping Cherry Blossoms', and in late April, you can see wonderful weeping cherry trees at various temples and shrines within a few minutes' distance from Hida Station Asahi Village. Also, in mid-May, the cherry blossoms in the Akigami area, upstream of Akigami Dam, will be in full bloom, allowing you to enjoy cherry blossoms over a long period. The illuminations are also held every year with the cooperation of the Hida Asahi Tourism Association and local residents.
