Hinatayama Kyogen Association

The first step into Kyogen starts here!
Kyogen, a traditional performing art that Japan takes pride in. Although it may seem distant, Kyogen has a theatrical aspect that conveys the senses and everyday events of the people, incorporating humor that resonates with modern audiences, making it an approachable art form. This performance includes a pre-explanation by the ninth generation Nomura Mannojou, a lecturer at Ochanomizu University who is actively transmitting Kyogen to the next generation. Let’s enjoy the stage of Kyogen, loved even after 600 years. Admission is not allowed for preschool children.
