10th Anniversary Special Exhibition 'Blooming - The Deepening of Masaru Ishimoto's Beauty'

―I want to encounter more emotions that only I can discover. One of the representative painters of post-war Japanese painting, Masaru Ishimoto (1920-2015), absorbed classical art as he felt, aiming to create a 'new Japanese painting that only I living in the modern age can depict.' After receiving two awards in 1971, he declined all awards, renewing his determination to pursue beauty. This exhibition showcases flowers and female figures from his 50s to his later years, when he deepened and flourished his art.
