Kameiwa Matsuri
The Shagiri boat parading against the backdrop of fireworks is enchanting
The festival held on the day of the big tide (June 15 in the old calendar) revolves around Kameishi Shrine. In addition to performances by the Koshima children’s taiko drumming and various ceremonies, boats decorated with lanterns on masts parade in Suimon Bay against the backdrop of fireworks launched from the opposite bank. The area around the venue, which becomes a pedestrian paradise, is lined with stalls and bustling with people until late at night. Fireworks will be sporadically launched from 20:00 to 21:00.
