A festival to honor Asuke Jiro Juhansuke
Seven towns in the center of the Asuke area (Matsueicho, Miyatown, Nishimachi, Shimmachi, Honmachi, Tamachi, and Shinnomachi) will display flower carts and parade through the streets. The flower carts are beautifully decorated with cherry blossoms and wisteria, and girls up to their teens will play the drums and sing along to the flutes of the musicians. Young men in their twenties, called 'wakaden', will steer the flower carts as they march through the streets of Asuke. There will also be memorial services conducted by the chief priest of Kasagidera and performance of the 'Bō no te' and Yagyu Shinkage-ryu swordsmanship.
