Soko's Room 86th Session

Why is there a shortage of teachers despite declining birthrates?

Readin’ Writin’ BOOK STORE

6/29(Sun) 19:00~21:00

The shortage of teachers has become a social issue. In Japan, the declining birthrate has been ongoing for several decades, and the demand for teachers should have significantly decreased, yet why is there such a shortage of teachers? In this session, based on our independent research data, we will discuss the mechanisms behind the teacher shortage. Furthermore, if this teacher shortage is left unaddressed, what will happen to Japanese society, and is there a future for those who care for children? We will explore this from a Japan-U.S. comparative perspective.
