This exhibition introduces toys that the children of the Tanaka family played with about 100 years ago during the Taisho to early Showa periods. Among them are toys with game-like elements, such as karuta, sugoroku, tabletop games themed on baseball and sports, and menko and ohajiki. Today, digital games on game consoles and smartphones are popular, but card and board games also maintain strong popularity. Come see games and toys from about 100 years ago and experience the interesting designs and fun of play that are somewhat different from today.
