This year marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Western-style painter Takeshi Hayashi (1896-1975). He led and was active in the Western art world in Japan from the late Taisho period to the Showa era. This exhibition will primarily introduce the female figures he portrayed throughout his life, along with oil paintings and sketches depicting landscapes and still lifes characterized by vivid colors and unique forms. Additionally, Hayashi also created book covers for many works, including those by Yukio Mishima, and some of those will also be exhibited.
