Nagahama Shrine Summer Festival

The highlight of summer festivals in Oita Prefecture
The Nagahama Shrine Summer Festival, held early in summer in Oita, has a deep-rooted history of about 600 years. As known as 'Rainy Nagahama,' it is often rainy during this season, but nearly 100 stalls line Shio Kyu Ben Street, Nagahama Street, and Nagai Street. Starting with the parade of the children's mikoshi from the 5th, various events such as the procession of mikoshi and lion dance, and the offering of Kagura will take place from the 5th to the 7th, drawing crowds every day. The 'Omika Mochi,' available for a limited time during the festival, is also recommended as a souvenir!
