Noshiro Tanabata Sky Castle

Revived after about a century, 'Sky Castle'
It is said that castle lanterns were operated in Noshiro from the late Edo period to the Meiji period. The original blueprints are no longer available, but the 'Sky Castle' has been revived based on literature and photographs. Two impressive large Tanabata floats walk through the city accompanied by drums and music. The sight of the two castle-shaped Tanabata lanterns seemingly reaching for the heavens is truly breathtaking. With a grand splendor and a beauty that takes your breath away, come and see it.
