[Cherry Blossoms - Best Viewing] Shiogama Cherry Blossoms of Kurozawa Tokkoan

The earliest blooming cherry blossoms in Saiki

Kurozawa Tokkoan

Mid-Mar~Late Mar

The "Shiogama Cherry Blossoms" of Kurozawa Tokkoan, which is said to have been visited by the Meiji literary master, Doppo Kunikida. The name comes from the fact that the scattered petals resemble the salt that crystallizes in the salt pans. There are two old cherry trees, both of which are several hundred years old and bloom slightly earlier than Somei Yoshino. Under the cherry tree on the right side, there is a "Doppo Literary Monument" with a passage engraved from "The Record of No Deception." The fully blooming cherry blossoms are magnificent, but the petals scattered in the moss-covered front yard of Tokkoan as they begin to fall are also quite charming.
