Imari ware, born in the 1610s in Arita, Hizen, as Japan's first porcelain, rapidly developed and became admired not only in Japan but around the world. This exhibition introduces the birth of Imari ware and its subsequent development, focusing on early Imari collection items. It also presents the history of admiration for white ceramics, alongside Chinese and Korean porcelain and Shino ware.

Closed on Tuesdays. Last admission is until 16:30. During Golden Week, the museum will be open on 4/29 (Tuesday, holiday) and closed the following day. Open without interruption from 5/1 (Thursday) to 5/12 (Monday).
