DaiKōzen-ji Azalea Festival

DaiKōzen-ji is an ancient temple of the Tendai sect that has continued since the Nara period, permitted to be called a "Bekkaku Honsan". In the National Treasure Hall next to the main hall, there are important cultural assets designated by the country, wooden statues of "Kōmoku-ten" and "Tamon-ten". The vast grounds behind the main hall include 50,000 azaleas, over 500 maple trees, large cedar and cypress trees, various gardens including Japanese gardens and Hanami Hall, and are bustling with many visitors in spring for the azaleas and in autumn for the fall foliage.
