Tenno Festival (Kamisenoura)

The float parades through the district!
The festival has been held since around the 6th year of Shōtoku (1716) and is said to have originated from the worship of the deity that wards off epidemics, Gozu Tenno. Prayers for good health and a big catch are offered, and visitors pay their respects at the Kamisen Shrine. In the evening, the residents of Kamisenoura pull a festival float decorated with bamboo and lanterns through the district with red and white ropes, and fireworks are launched around 21:00 (time is subject to change).
