At Kogoshiji, one of Japan's three major bellflower temples, approximately 40,000 bellflower plants of 15 varieties bloom in the temple grounds from early June to late July, creating a carpet of white and purple. Additionally, around 2,000 lotus flowers of 25 varieties reach their peak around late June.
