The Equestrian Performers that Enthralled Edo

Equestrian performers, or 'bajōsai,' are those who perform various poses while riding a running horse. The bajōsai visited Japan in 1636 as part of the 4th Korean envoy at the request of Tokugawa Iemitsu. They showcased their skills at the Tsushima Domain residence and Edo Castle. This exhibition focuses on the bajōsai of the Korean envoy and introduces primarily the collected materials.
