Mountain hydrangeas add color to the ancient temple during the rainy season
Kōsoku-ji, a temple of the Nichiren sect. The grounds are home to a 200-year-old Chinese quince tree, designated as a natural monument of Kamakura City, along with various flowers that bloom throughout the seasons. From early May each year, about 200 varieties of mountain hydrangeas bloom, creating a refreshing scene even in the moist climate of the rainy season. Enjoy the native Japanese mountain hydrangeas while strolling through the temple grounds.
