Indigenous peoples of Hokkaido, Sakhalin, and the Russian Far East circulated various items through a network known as Santan trade from the 17th to 19th centuries, and this trade route is also referred to as the "Silk Road of Northeast Asia." Notable items brought through this network include Ezo brocade and Santan clothing, which are Chinese official garments, along with their fabrics. This exhibition focuses on these materials and introduces the exchange of Chinese products such as glass beads and coins with other indigenous peoples.
