[Cherry Blossom - Peak Bloom] The Great Cherry Blossom of Iwaien

A great cherry blossom standing on an open slope. The estimated 800-year-old Azuma Higan tree, boasting a trunk circumference of about 6.5m and a branch spread of 23m, produces delicate pale pink flowers in mid-April, providing a relatively long viewing period. It is designated as a natural monument by Maniwa City. Every year, lighting is held during the period from just after 50% bloom until about 21:00.
