A traditional event held every year on the first Sunday of June, welcoming the rice paddy deity Sanbai. During the Mibu Hanadaue, the rice planting is done by young women dressed in traditional attire, accompanied by a parade of brightly decorated oxen followed by drummers and flutists. It is a traditional event praying for an abundant harvest, featuring over ten decorated oxen and nearly a hundred participants, creating a splendid rural panorama. It is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset and registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. ■Notes Kagura performances are held at the交流センター 紫の里 (Kyoryu Center Murasaki no Sato).
