Kasugajo Park, the site of Yamagata Castle's Ninomaru, is the best cherry blossom viewing spot in Yamagata City with about 1500 cherry trees in full bloom. In this park, the "Kasugajo Cherry Blossom Viewing Festival" is held in accordance with the cherry blossoms' blooming period, and during the event period, attractions such as cherry blossom illuminations along the moat are conducted.
