[Sakura Blossom Peak] Futagawa Dam Park

1000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees reflecting on the dam lake

Futagawa Dam Park

Late Mar~Early Apr

Futagawa Dam, built on the Arida River system, is the second largest gravity concrete dam in Wakayama Prefecture. The high dam offers a panoramic view of the expansive scenery. Also, heading upstream from Futagawa Dam, there is the bright red suspension bridge 'Zao Bridge' spanning the lake, which is popular as a photo spot. In spring, about 1000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees bloom along the lakeside of Futagawa Dam and along National Route 480, making it highly recommended for cherry blossom viewing.
