Heikyushi Danaka aspired to be a sculptor and, the year after moving to Tokyo, spent three years under the great Zen monk Nishiyama Kasan, which had a significant influence on his thoughts and was reflected in his work. In his later years, he created pieces with calligraphy of Zen sayings, yet it can be said that he continued to hold the impressions he received in his youth. This time, we will introduce sculptures and calligraphy by Heikyushi Danaka themed around Zen from our collection. Additionally, we are also exhibiting the 'Mirror Lion', so take this opportunity to enjoy it. ■ Notes On July 19 (Saturday) from 8:00 to 9:00, there will be a Zen meditation experience event, reservation required.
