Sanriku Ofunato Summer Festival

The 7th year of the Sanriku Ofunato Summer Festival will be held on 8/1 (Friday) and 8/2 (Saturday). On the first day, there will be a maritime Tanabata parade, and on the second day, numerous events including the Citizens' dance parade and fireworks display are planned. This year, as part of the large-scale forestry fire recovery commemoration "Fireworks Display" in Ofunato City, fireworks will be launched starting at 19:30 from offshore boats in Ofunato Bay, beginning with a star mine. Enjoy the collaboration with maritime Tanabata and illuminations!

The festival takes place on 8/1 from 16:00 to 21:30 and on 8/2 from 12:00 to 20:15. The fireworks display is on 8/2 from 19:30 to 20:15.

Paid parking: Susakigawa River mouth, north side inside Chaya-mae Wharf, temporary storage (Mori River mouth), temporary storage (in front of Abe Nagaya), and the former Hashizume Trading Company. Free parking: Auto Repair Sunrise, Ofunato Produce, etc.

About 90 minutes from Ichinoseki IC on the Tohoku Expressway.

Access (Public)

Transfer to the JR Ofunato Line BRT at JR Kesennuma Station and get off at JR Ofunato Station, about a 3-minute walk.
