Shakuhachi Concert Beyond Schools (May)

A free concert featuring various schools of shakuhachi music
At the Minato Ward Traditional Music Research Association, there are performers belonging to different factions of various shakuhachi schools, including the Fuka-Meian School, Kinko School, and Tozan School, as well as other factions within each school. The repertoire is diverse, ranging from classical pieces of the Komuso monks to contemporary Japanese music. Come and experience the profound world of shakuhachi music. The pieces to be performed include Oshu-den Tsurunosukomo, Banji, Kokuu, Suzukurisuzuko, Tsuioku, Tsurikawari Bachi, Hikkyoku Tsurunosukomo, Meian no Usozora, Uchiba, Nishikifuuryu Shishi, Ikikan, Shinya, You - for solo shakuhachi, Takiraku, Shinkyorei, and others. ■Notes No prior reservation needed, all seats are free.
