Niguchi Kumano Shrine Fire Walking Ritual

This event is held during the Autumn Grand Festival at Niguchi Kumano Shrine. It involves visiting the homes of parishioners to gather impurities, running through flames of burning straw to purge these impurities, and is based on the faith of Fudo Myoo. It is said to have been transmitted by yamabushi (mountain ascetics).
