Founder’s Birthday Celebration

The "Founder's Birthday Celebration" is held to commemorate the birthday of the Great Master. The name was first mentioned in the "Kongōbō-ji Annual Events" written in the 7th year of An'ei (1778) and it is recorded that it was originally conducted in the Main Hall. In the 4th year of Taisho, the Koyasan Daishi Church was completed, and at that time, the location was moved to the Main Hall of the Daishi Church. This ceremony not only celebrates the birth of the Great Master but also wishes for modern children to grow up healthy, vigorous, and wise, inspired by the intelligence of the Great Master from childhood.
