Free observation of the cattle auction held once every two months. Okinawa Prefecture ranks 4th in the nation for calf production. Many farmers in Kumejima also engage in livestock farming, bringing calves that have been raised for about 10 months to auction. At the auction, fattening farmers from outside the prefecture (those who raise cattle for beef) purchase calves, most of which are shipped as branded beef across the country.
