Glass ball making became a popular side job for agriculture in the Shinoda region during the Meiji period. In the Taisho period, the manufacturing of artificial pearls created by painting those glass balls also gained popularity. Experience the technique of 'Shinoda Glass,' where glass rods are melted with a kerosene burner and wrapped around an iron rod to create glass balls. Instruction will be provided by Kuniko Sano from the glass workshop 'Kun.' Pre-registration is required (first-come, first-served until capacity is reached). On the day of the event, gather at the first-floor materials room of the Human Rights Center, and walk approximately 1.5 km to the workshop.
