The Kishi school, which was founded by Kishi Kō and flourished in Kyoto. Ishida Itsuo (Shuhō, 1800–1869) from Takamiya, Ōmi Province, was a painter of the Kishi school active in Kyoto, awarded the titles of Hōkyō and Hōgan. His sister Shiran (1803–1863) was also known to have worked as a painter. This exhibition is the first to unravel the artistic careers and lives of the Ishida siblings.
