Participation in the Great Mid-Year Purification Ceremony and Understanding the Great Purification Sutra

Participation in the Great Mid-Year Purification Ceremony and Understanding the Great Purification Sutra

Interpreting Japanese people through the Great Purification Sutra and praying for good health

Okitama Inari Shrine

6/29(Sun) 16:00~18:00

Great Purification ceremonies are held twice a year at shrines across the country, in June (mid-year) and December (year-end). Many may think of doll offerings, among other things. On the day of the event, our shrine's priest will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the "Great Purification Sutra (with furigana)" that will be chanted during the Great Purification. Together, we will think about how the Japanese have faced various "sins and impurities" since ancient times and how they have purified themselves. In the latter half, we will pass through the Wisteria Ring and proceed to the shrine front to chant the Great Purification Sutra together. Let's participate in order to spend the latter half of this year refreshingly and with a new spirit. ■Notes Participants should register in advance due to the preparation of doll offerings and other items.
