The "Ukiyo-e prints" that common people enjoyed for viewing in the Edo period and the souvenirs called "Otsu-e" sold to travelers in post towns both reflect the aesthetic sense of Edo's common people. This exhibition introduces the beauty of Edo's common people by displaying 55 pieces of the legendary "Tōkaidō Gojūsan-tsugi" by Marusei, along with 55 local photographs, and an additional 38 pieces of Otsu-e from the collection of painter Gen Tarō Koito, honorary citizen of Onomichi.
