Sakata, a port town that flourished as a shipping hub for the Mogami River and as a stop for the Kitamae Trading Ships during the Edo period, has inherited many items of high artistic and historical value along with various goods. Since its opening in 1947, the Honma Art Museum has received numerous donations from the wealthy Honma family, local citizens, and art collectors, housing many valuable art pieces of high artistic quality. This exhibition introduces the museum's recommended masterpieces from its collection of paintings, calligraphy, crafts, and historical materials. ■Notes Curator's Gallery Talk: Date/April 27 (Sunday) and May 11 (Sunday) starting at 11 AM
