Reiwa 7 Year Early Autumn Exhibition "Washi Craftsmanship: Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine's Ceremonial Flower Offerings and Dyed Templates"

Feel the charm of washi
Japanese paper, which colors Japanese culture. Its craftsmanship has been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Heritage as "Washi: Traditional Japanese Handmade Paper Techniques". The ceremonial flower offerings are decorative flowers presented as offerings during the "Iwashimizu Matsuri" held at Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine. These floral offerings represent the subtle seasonal changes woven by Japan's natural environment. The templates are made by layering 2 or 3 sheets of handmade paper, engraved with patterns. Both the decorative flowers and dyed templates are created with meticulous craftsmanship, embodying delicate beauty.
