Former Yasuda Kusuo Residence Garden Katari to Warai Bu 'Yanaka Oboro-machi'

The story of the people who lived through the war and post-war period in the alleys of Yanaka, adjacent to the Former Yasuda Kusuo Residence Garden in Sendagi, is presented in 'Yanaka Oboro-machi'. This work, the only novel by the writer Mayumi Mori, known as a master of oral history, was born from an interview featured in the local magazine 'Yanaka, Nezu, Sendagi', and is a classic that one wants to read as we approach 80 years after the war. The opening features a Tsugaru shamisen performance of 'Tokyo Ondo', which appears in the work. Two episodes from the four-part 'Yanaka Oboro-machi' will be narrated alongside the sounds of a phonograph inherited from the Yasuda family. ■Notes For the preservation of the building, please wear socks and deposit large luggage or backpacks.
