Collaboration of Important Cultural Properties and Cherry Blossoms
The Former Iwasaki Residence was built in 1896 (Meiji 29) as the main residence of the Iwasaki family, the founders of Mitsubishi. It was designed by the British architect Josiah Conder, and the existing structures include the Western-style house, billiard room, and Japanese house. The entire site, including the brick wall, and the measured drawings are designated as Important Cultural Properties. In spring, Oshima cherry and Somei Yoshino cherry blossom throughout the garden.
