Otagi Castle was the residence of the Sengoku warlord Azai and saw fierce battles against Oda Nobunaga during the time of the third lord Nagamasa. The ruins of Otagi Castle not only convey the remnants of a mountain castle well but also retain traces of the fierce battles fought, making it a site of historical significance. Moreover, there are many story-related highlights, such as the couple Nagamasa and Oichi, and their three daughters of the Azai sisters. During a limited period, a shuttle bus will operate from the foot to the castle ruins. At key points of the Otagi Castle ruins, local story guide will assist you. ■Remarks Operations are also planned for weekends and holidays in November.
