A cherry tree estimated to be 300 years old
According to legend, the warlord Goto Matabei, who played an active role in the Summer Campaign of Osaka, fled to this area and lived out his life as a monk. This weeping cherry tree remains in the area, which is also the site of the Goto family's residence, leading the locals to affectionately call it 'Matabei Sakura.' In spring, it gently blossoms and announces the arrival of spring to many people.
