Takeo Takei was a multi-artist active from the Taisho to the Showa period. With a passionate belief that "art for children must be genuine art," Takei invented the genre of "picture books for children." While excelling as a picture book artist, he showcased an extraordinary array of talents as a printmaker, designer, toy creator, and educator.
