Yanagidani Kannon Chita Betsuin Festival (May)

Wish at the spiritually miraculous Yanagidani Kannon
Kyoto's famous Yanagidani Kannon, Yangyaji. A monthly event, the festival, held at Shomyoji, a Chita Betsuin. On that day, the names of the worshippers who applied for prayers are called aloud during the memorial service to help their wishes come true. Participants receive a Zuko (塗香) protection charm. The Zuko is a fragrant amulet that can be exchanged for a new one each month. After the service, a simple tea gathering is held. Additionally, after the service, alongside the usual goshuin (temple seal), a whimsical goshuin written by the chief priest may be granted to those who wish for it, based on his whims.
