Bofu Tenmangu Birthday Festival

A festival celebrating the birthday of the deity "Sugawara no Michizane." From August 3rd to 5th each year, various celebratory events such as a fireworks festival and lantern light-up are held. Among them, the lantern festival with over 2000 candle lights leading to the Tenmangu is mystical. On the final day, a fireworks festival is held, and the colorful fireworks launched at the Tenmangu illuminate Bofu's summer.
