Authentic Tsurusaki Dance Festival

–Tonight, a night of flower scrolls–
The Tsurusaki dance, designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Asset of the country, features two dances: the graceful "Sarumaru Dayu" and the brisk-tempo "Saemon". It is said that Saemon dates back to the time of Lord Oda Nobunaga, while Sarumaru Dayu originates from the mid-Edo period Ise dance. Dancers, dressed in colorful and splendid costumes, form a circle and dance along to the sounds of flutes and kokyu flowing with the cool breezes crossing the Ohnogawa River.
