Tatara Operating Experience - 2nd Session

Experience the ancient Japanese steel-making method "Tatara"
"Tatara steel-making" is an ancient Japanese technique that involves putting sand iron and charcoal into a large box-shaped furnace made of clay and heating it over several days to produce iron. This region was once known as a source of high-purity, high-quality Japanese iron and steel. This tour allows participants to touch upon the history of Tatara steel-making while practically experiencing the process of making iron, making it a rare experience in Japan. The current Tatara experience is an original mini Tatara experience from Yoshida Town, arranged to allow tourists to experience the principles of Tatara steel-making. Advance registration is required.
