A temple said to be founded by Prince Shotoku, it is also famous as a dignified lodging temple. The statue of Prince Shotoku housed in the goma hall is from the Northern and Southern Dynasties period. The garden, Guhōen, is said to have been created by Sen no Rikyū and renovated by Hosokawa Yūsai, and it is also recognized as one of the three gardens of Yamato. The strolling garden allows for a leisurely walk while enjoying seasonal flowers. In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom beautifully, especially the weeping cherry tree 'Tenjin no Sakura', estimated to be over 300 years old, standing gracefully by the pond.
