Cormorant Capture Site General Public Opening

The Only One in the Country! Cormorant Capture Site
Hitachi City, which uniquely supplies cormorants used in cormorant fishing on the Nagara River in Gifu Prefecture, conducts general public openings of the capture site twice a year, from January to March and from July to September, without interfering with the capture. Visitors can observe the capture area called Toya and hear directly from the catchers about the ecology of the cormorants and the methods of capture. ■ Remarks Reservations are required for group viewings
