The "Toro Nagashi" wishing for eternal peace
On the night of August 6, 2023, the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing, the Toro-nagashi Executive Committee members will hold the "Peace Message Toro Nagashi" on the Motoyasu River. This event is meant to comfort the spirits of victims of the atomic bomb, war, and general deaths, while widely spreading a message of peace to the world and wishing for eternal peace. People of various nationalities visit the venue each year to light the toros and quietly watch them float.
