[Cherry Blossom Viewing] Shono Sakura Park

[Cherry Blossom Viewing] Shono Sakura Park

Recommended for views that combine the fishing port and cherry blossoms.

Shono Sakura Park

Early May~Mid-May

A grove of cherry blossoms that grow naturally on the highlands of Shono, which was selected as one of the "Top 100 Tourist Attractions in Hokkaido" shortly after World War II. A little delayed from the arrival of spring, the blossoms reach their best viewing season around mid-May every year. At the back of the park, there is an Ezo Yamazakura estimated to be 300 years old, which is said to have originally been two trees that supported each other and eventually became one large tree, hence it is called "Couple Cherry Blossom" and blooms beautifully every year.
